Currently, over 25 first-party PS5 titles are in development

The head of PlayStation Studios reveals that plenty of new games are in the works.

According to Sony Worldwide Studios' Hermen Hulst, more than 25 first-party PS5 games are now in production. "Nearly half" of these 25 titles are said to be original IPs, not sequels or remakes.

“There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions,” Hulst says. “Big, small, different genres.”

The titles Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon ForbiddenWest, the upcoming God of War, and Gran Turismo 7 have been announced. Meanwhile, two indie teams, Haven and Firewalk Studios, have announced publication deals. This would bring the total number of titles to six, leaving a total of 19 unaccounted for.

Other titles that haven't been formally announced but are logical to include in the overall provided count include the rumoured remake of The Last of Us and Sony San Diego's forthcoming (now-multiplatform) MLB game.
