The race to feature in every videogame adaptation that has ever been made continues.
Hunky Henry Cavill has been making the rounds to promote The Witcher season two, and he appears to be on a mission to sign up for every gaming adaptation imaginable. Geralt? He's never been heard of before: how about Mass Effect? His passion for Warhammer 40K leads to frequent expressions of admiration for the hobby, and he'll even kindly correct hosts who confuse it with Warcraft.
Cavill isn't finished yet, despite all of this and his appearance. Cavill spoke to GameReactor during the red carpet opening of The Witcher Season 2 in Madrid, where he was asked which videogame he'd like to adapt into a Netflix film or series.
"Well, that's a tricky one, 'cause you're tying both an IP and a company together, which is a tricky thing to do, so I certainly don't want to put myself in any corners with that, but there are plenty of games out there... I've actually started playing Red Dead Redemption 2—I know I'm a little bit late to that party—but I started playing it and I'm really enjoying it. And so, something like that I think would be fun to turn into a movie."
Cavill is a little too fresh-faced for Arthur Morgan, but he would make a good John Marston. The thing is, you get the impression he'd gladly volunteer to play Earthworm Jim right now. Cavill has stated that he will do as many seasons of The Witcher as Netflix will allow him, so expect lots more of this now that the show's scripts for season three have been completed and the show's popularity is at an all-time high. Next, someone should ask him about Max Payne.
