Mobile version of Rocket League is now available all around the world

On iOS and Android, Sideswipe is now available.

On iOS and Android, Rocket League Sideswipe, a mobile version of the popular car-based soccer game, is now available. According to 9to5Google, the game was first released in Oceania on November 15th, but it is now available worldwide, albeit in a "pre-season" mode ahead of Season 1's launch at an undisclosed later date.

The free-to-play game, which was first unveiled in March, is a simpler version of Rocket League, which was first released in 2015. The most significant difference is that the mobile version is played in 2D rather than a fully three-dimensional arena. With touch controls, you drive your car with a virtual joystick on the left side of the screen, while buttons on the right handle leaping and boost.

The car's boost auto-regenerates, so there's no need to look for recharging pads, and teams are limited to a maximum of two players per side, unlike in standard Rocket League. The game's conventional soccer mode is available, as well as a basketball-style "Hoops" variation.

If that sounds appealing, Sideswipe is now available on iOS and Android.
